Greater Manchester “Speak Out” Challenge!

This programme takes our flagship public speaking training and competition format to the young people of Greater Manchester for the first time.

In state schools across the region, Year 10 students (aged 14-15) will be trained in public speaking and communication skills during a free school workshop provided by expert trainers from Speakers Trust. Through interactive and engaging training, students will learn to:

  • Deliver a speech without notes;
  • Speak confidently in front of a group;
  • Understand the key ingredients of successful communication;
  • Give and receive constructive written and verbal feedback.

Each school will enter one student into a Regional Final where they will have the chance to meet peers from other schools, share experiences and showcase their talent.

Working with teachers through the Greater Manchester “Speak Out” Challenge! we hope to make a difference in the lives of less engaged students by raising their aspirations and giving them the confidence to succeed.

The Greater Manchester “Speak Out” Challenge! is kindly supported by the Wates Family Enterprise Trust. Eligible schools can register here.

This is some of the best training I have been on for a very long time. Great team-building as well.
